Under the shade of a canopy of trees stands the Ranade Institute Building on Fergusson College road. The Institute currently houses the Department of Communications and Journalism of the University of Pune and the Department of Foreign Languages, in a new building next door.
In the early 1900s, politician and reformer Gopal Krishna Gokhale had a goal to start an industrial and economic institute in honor of his mentor – Justice Mahadev Govind Ranade. Gokhale, one of the great men of Indian public life, became acquainted with Ranade at the age of 21 and there was a close bond between the two.

The NCP, Congress and Shiv Sena, who make up the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) in Maharashtra, organized a meeting of a “general civil body of the people” on Saturday at the Acharya Atre hall in Pimpri-Chinchwad in protest against the refusal of the ruling BJP. a special meeting of the civil society body to discuss the budget proposals.
The BJP alleged that the BJP had “tampered with the budget proposals” presented by the Pimpri-Chinchwad civil administration, NCP spokesman Yogesh Behl said: “When the general meeting of the civil body was held in February to discuss the budget proposals, the mayor held the meeting until March 17, but the term of the civil general authority expires on March 13, which means that the ruling BJP had no intention of holding the meeting.”
